They come from different paths to support each other and talk about the process of change. They share experiences they have had to create tools for success today and for down the road.
A shared path; the essence of peer-support recovery in the realm of healing. Everyone’s life and experiences are their own, but, by walking side-by-side, there is strength in numbers.
You can do that too.
Beginning the third week in January, I will be combining the areas in which I work to provide a space in which anyone seeking a significant shift in their life can enable the tools to do so. Details below ....
In this shared awareness, while paying attention to what is going on in life, conscious decisions can be made by individuals with which to form our intention for the next step.
Clarity and choice.
Nothing needs to be right or wrong. It is how you engage it that is important, and if the same struggle continuously comes up, then with clarity and conviction the choices to stay aligned with your stated path is easier because you choose the best things for you in the first place.
They are the right choices for you, regardless of how they appear to others.
There are tools to do this, that I can teach for you to adopt. Like bricks in the foundation on which you stand; solid and customized for you.
Nothing is beyond your power to change, and what you choose to create.
If you believe this, then anything is possible if you believe in yourself as well.
You have all you need now, but to realize your abundance you first need to be open to release that which is no longer working as intended and be filled with what is available for you as your birthright.
Live life and don’t let life live you. Dictate the terms of engagement.
It is not always that easy though to blast love into a situation until it is so full that you feel, sometimes inappropriately, that it is more than it is, or simply laughing at the fact you left your keys in the car (think of this also as putting the control of you into the hands of another), or the radio on thus draining your battery (think of this also as tuning into the nightly news or engaging in gossip), and now are waiting for a tow-truck to come save you (victim of your own oversight, but a corrective measure to put you back on course, and you called for the tow truck, you saved yourself ultimately).
Your salvation is in yourself, and you need to keep yourself on that course. You do not need to be saved by anything. You save yourself by putting yourself first and being true to yourself.
Over the course of six weeks, more than 24 hours of total session time, the topics, tools, and process of how to change your reality are available to you. But there is much more to this brand of kicking things out of your life that do not support you than notions of simply getting by.
In Recover to Chosen Path, you will learn how to develop a solid connection to your physical body that you can cultivate and learn to understand. I call it the Ceremony of the Body, and I have spoken about this in many ways over the years. It is how I myself navigated through organ failure and cancer.
These are the proven tools to change the way you interface with external reality to create your own in which everything sustains you.
In my personal life, I overcame my health challenges, but we all face challenges and the level of their impact might not always look to others as it feels to us. To us they are huge, and that is all that matters.
In examining the tools that I created or was given to enable success through a situation as took place with me, both medically and spiritually, it is clear now that what I once referred to as The Teacher, cancer, is indeed a collection of tools that can be taught. The teacher came to me, but the tools are not exclusive to the specific conditions of my existence.
These same tools apply to any situation. They are here for you now. I am here to offer them to you. Think of it as you will, but I think of it as what I was sent here to do in the first place, but that I needed to walk certain paths before realizing their full potential.
The many paths I walked along the way remain in the form of these tools.
They are there for anyone who needs them.
How you use this medicine is totally yours, as will be the tools you create from what you have learned that sustain you, but they can keep you aligned with what you have chosen.
It does not matter how large the change, or how quickly you want to do it. There is nothing needed other than openness, honesty, and the desire to radically shift the way you engage the world. We will have six weeks, but that is just the beginning of an ever-developing process.
You will be tuned to a new frequency, one that is not as cluttered by day-to-day distractions.
Are you ready for that? Change that can begin today, and a toolkit to use going forward?
Is it time to break the repeating pattern, step away from the crutch, free yourself from the socialization that seeks to instill in you your dependency on things beyond yourself? If so, and you are sure, and I mean that as in your committed to it, it is here.
It is a bold move to toss everything out to clear the space for something new, but to do it, nothing is off the table if what you are seeking is a radical shift.
A six-week reset. A blank slate. What comes to your new path from there is up to you. It can be from the past as much as you choose, but what it will fully be is only things that keep you in alignment to your intended destination.
It is about only you, why you are here, what is it you want to do now? We will call that step one, but there really are no steps other than where you choose to go.
In their application, true adoption of these tools and concepts will take time, but change will occur as you are exposed to this medicine. It is not a treatment for symptoms but rather an elixir that can cleanse your mind and nourish you along the first steps of a new path.
Beyond that, the tools will provide you with a skill set tailored just for you.
To achieve internal balance.
In Recover to the Chosen Path, participants will get the tools they need to move through and beyond a major life challenge or shift in your awareness.
We will start by dispelling the myth of death and sowing the seeds of peace in your heart, something I learned from another teacher who himself asked me to refer to cancer as my teacher. We will discuss why it is important to “pay at the pump” and what I mean when I say, “This is how it feels to heal”, something I created with my benefactor and how I changed pain into a blessing through gratitude as I moved towards healing.
Within all this medicine is an upgraded view and understanding of the notion of self, as well as ways to approach it, that is fully you and much more connected to you than before.
You will learn not how to only listen to yourself differently but also how to merge with it in the Ceremony of the Body. Here is where the magic takes place for the healing. When both your mind and body are one in communication in a whole new way. After that, you no longer have a body or a mind, you simply have you. All of you all the time.
It takes courage in yourself because when you dig deep, experience the Ceremony of the Body and it is just you but you are by no means alone, then you get to make the call on how you will live.
Because you now have a new definition of the word feel, and an appreciation for how much of you there really is. Is now the time for a shift?
Trying to maintain your relationship with chemical substances? There are ways to do that if you are honest and create a personal container for specific activities in our lives. Living in the moment is one thing but keeping a view of the situation is key to success. The same thing goes for any behaviors that we enjoy but can lead us astray if we lose sight of the big picture.
Harm reduction, regardless of the nature of the cause or need for change, is always a safe bet. At the very least, you are looking out for yourself, and others are accepting your choices.
Clear and refreshed. Your world, your choices, your life. You will be exposed to knowledge, tools, and medicine that you can use as the basis of recreating your own reality, and then how to augment it when you choose to change the landscape on which you play.
You will get in Recover to Chosen Path
Six Individual Calls – We will begin each week looking at a new facet of the diamond we are creating. From day one we begin the deep dive into what is coming up for you in your world. Ninety minutes.
This time is shared but the floor is yours if you need it.
Together, we can use the tools in a way just for you so that you can enjoy the fruits of the trees you are growing from the seeds you have sowed.
Whatever you want within the spectrum of what I offer. From substance issues, to health crisis, to cultivating a new life through consciousness and spirituality. It is available to you.
We have six opportunities, a total of 540 minutes, you choose.
Six Virtual Group Sessions via Zoom – A safe space to come together around the virtual fire and share. Every week a new topic will be introduced along the path that all are sharing, and that is of change and an enduring alignment. Tools to use within these considerations will be covered as well. Each session will have an open Q&A at the end regardless of the remainder of what is scheduled. Even if nobody has anything, there will always be at least some space at the end. Two hours.
Think of them as rest stops, sitting around the table for dinner, or perhaps sitting around a fire to share wisdom. Think of me as the storyteller. One who has walked many varied paths and knows many stories, has acquired many tools, and has helped many people in sharing a path for a time.
The specific time and day of these groups will be determined as the group is formed and each member’s availability is considered.
The videos will be available for replay, though access to them will change following the course as I archive them elsewhere.
Private/Closed Facebook Group – Each week I will post pertinent information for the week, and then provide a space for any conversation that might come up over the six weeks. Sunday of each week, I will post the coming weeks tool or topic. Any information to review head of the Zoom session will be posted here as well. Participation in this group is not mandatory, but awareness of what is posted is if we want to stay 100% present. Only group members access this page and will be able to see what is posted.
The Facebook group will remain open until there are less than two active members.
Who Recover to Chosen Path is for
Motivated People – This is not sit around and think about it, and while yes there is a lot of conversation and consciousness raised around various topics and areas of your life, it is walking the path, making those sometimes tough decisions, and being committed to success is what goes on here. Are you one of those? Is what you want seemingly that different from now that you need a total reset? You are already perfect, but this group is perfect for you.
Honest People – This is no time to hide or be the victim, the time now calls for honesty to clear your consciousness and reassess what you are experiencing. In this heightened awareness of attention, you can then form an intention that is not only right for you, but free of any of the baggage you inadvertently left in the trunk. The dead weight of your self-doubting past, because it often is the culprit cited as to why people find it hard to change. Some do not even believe they can in the first place, they lack some degree of self-confidence, self-worth, and self-determination, and that makes it true that they can not. Can you be honest with yourself, with me, and with others? Are you confident you can commit to change? Can you commit to six-weeks of showing up for yourself, and for others? If so, this is a safe container to be vulnerable and lay it all on the table. If this is you, then step right in there is a place for you at the table.
A willingness to invest in the future – What is the price of a better life? Can there even be a charge for that as if it is something we can just go simply purchase and somehow incorporate and instantly be in bliss? Nope, not even close, but it still requires capital. Personal capital, health capital, financial capital, and even maintaining it in personal relationships. Understating the true nature of your capital is another thing that you will grow to appreciate more, but an understanding of commitment here is what is important. Self-help groups are one thing. They are wonderful, and they are mostly free. But expensive and free are terms we use because we have been conditioned to use them mostly in terms of money. But happiness and money have nothing to do with each other, and in fact, even the consideration of money in most ways is a detriment to happiness. Do you want to change that? Are you willing to invest enough of your capital, be it personal, inter-personal, financial, and otherwise to demonstrate your own conviction to change in a real and serious way? Are you willing to invest in your future and in the future of others? Then this group is for you.
Who Recover to Chosen is NOT for
Ignoring Problems or Spiritual Bypassing – This is not a turning off of things you just don’t like in your life, it is addressing them in a very real and raw way with clarity, honesty, and determination to change that which is going negatively into something to build upon. It is not about running away and sitting in a circle dreaming of the Happy Hunting Grounds. Not at all, this is how to turn the shadow of the valley of death into the vast abundance of the universe. But you have to do it, nothing is just handed to you that will in and of itself matter much. It is what you choose, what you do, with your opportunities, that chart your course. The world is not out to get you, you are reacting to life in a way that makes it feel that way, but are you even able to consider that in the first place? Can you face that reality? If not, this is not your group.
Support as a crutch – Too often people develop another repeating pattern while trying to dispel an old one. In substance abuse this is perfectly illustrated with the cessation of alcohol use and then many years of active participation in very structured groups such as twelve step programs. While, everyone gets out of these groups different things, and if it is healing the who cares how other’s view the group, sometimes the group itself becomes the addiction. Such is the case with some of these groups for many, but not in the way of enjoying the company of others who live similar lives in recovery, that is great, but in a way that if they stop so too will their recovery. They are still in the victim mindset and it is reinforced by a belief that if they stop coming, that they will then start drinking or doing drugs. That might be the case for some, but it is not a default position. Being in long term recovery and attending a group is fine, but, like with anything, don’t go because you feel you have to or something bad will happen to you simply by not going. If you have changed the part that “might go wrong” in the first place, or are well along that path of change, then community is more about what you seek, and Recover to Chosen Path is for you, if not, it isn’t. In other words, you must be ready to oversee yourself and take ownership of your path. You got you here.
A bit more about me, Steve Patterson ….
The tools, teaching, and medicine I possess are based on my more than two decades of facilitating groups, and the past five in individual sessions. They are to activate in you your higher self to guide you assist you on your path. The content of these sessions varied greatly, as has most of my life, and source now flows in me as the convergence of my service to my country, nearly two decades in the corporate world of journalism, my connection to Spirit through Shamanism, and recently, as in the last five years, teachings and certifications on my way to being nationally certified as a recovery coach, and then internationally as a Drug & Alcohol Counselor. But beyond what I have done with others, it is what I did with myself that is the foundation now of all of what has gone before. It came over an eight-year health saga that took me from liver failure, to cancer, to transplant, to full health. A complete change from one life to another.
"I am feeling so well-connected and joyous, and content....and purer. ... Thank you, again, Steve. This has been such a wonderful gift! No one, to date, has been able to give me back myself. Your 'magic' is changing lives.." - hard to explain.
"I cherish the moments I had with you!" - five years sober, text out of the blue.
