There many ways to approach a path but there is only one path that is yours. Are you on it?
It is there, the right one, and while you may be a degree or two off course now, if you shift things a bit you will get where you want to go. But finding that spot is hard sometimes. We get a little lost as the events in our lives get in the way. They act as detours to our grand plan, and one can subsequently feel as if they have gotten stuck in a ditch.
Walking down my own path, and walking along side others as they reassess theirs and get back on track, has been a blessing for me and I consider it my life’s work.
The limitations you place on yourself by only looking at what is wrong, all the while perhaps stuck in the limiting spaces you have grown accustomed to automatically accepting since you were a child, often time reveal themselves as negative determinants to us along the way to success.
That is when you reassess. Pause and reflect. Not on the past, but rather is here now, in this moment, and in your life today. Regardless of how you got here you are here, so as Ram Das reminds us: Be, Here, Now.
That is great advice, and as you achieve this mindset, you can lead yourself directly to the success you desire. There have been far too many discoveries and revelations to go about finding your path with any one mode of healing—regardless of its certification or tradition. In fact, the farther you go back in the human experience, the easier it gets to open yourself to basic realizations. Once seen, the view back to where you are now becomes clear, and, once exposed, the illusions that have been derailing your choices and behavior in their various expressions no longer appear as valid.
You change the way you look at things, and you change your reality. With work, you can do this, and I can help you having been first thrust into a space where this was my only way out, but it is one you too can find for yourself. While I am a certified drug and alcohol counsellor, that is only to demonstrate the necessary qualification to do that work. I have done it for five years in various forms, and I still do today.
But, I have walked between the worlds of clinical psychology and esoteric spirituality with the later being the principal power in all I have done for over a decade. It is from there we find the hope we need. It is in those combined spaces I traverse, and the content of the issue matters not when it comes to change, and neither does the spirituality, which is not organized religion.
I can help you, if you are serous about helping yourself. While I can not heal you, my work is as a healer in that I create a safe space for you to be vulnerable to the truth, honest with yourself, honest with me, and once you have done that you can begin to make choices that are honestly the best, but always right for your path.
Alcohol and Drug Sessions
I meet with people in Athens, Ga., but I do not have an office. This is a virtual practice and most of my sessions are conducted and they are largely over the phone. My certification in in the State of Georgia, however, as a member of the IC&RC, it would be valid if I were to move to any of the locations on the map below. While I am not certified there, I can certainly speak meet with you in private practice. I am out of network but can provide a super bill if you would like that for insurance purposes.
Whatever the client is comfortable with is fine, compliance issues will be addressed if needed. Again, as far as certification pertaining to legal or other issues, that would only be in the State of Georgia.
My work in substance misuse has been in association with Recovery Cafe since 2015.
"I am feeling so well-connected and joyous, and content....and purer. ... Thank you, again, Steve. This has been such a wonderful gift! No one, to date, has been able to give me back myself. Your 'magic' is changing lives.." - hard to explain.
"I cherish the moments I had with you!" - five years sober, text out of the blue.
